Assistant Manager

Job Description

The Assistant manager oversees all operations, ensuring exceptional client experiences, trainer performance, and business growth. This role focuses on driving revenue through personal training sales, optimizing scheduling and coaching systems, and maintaining a high-energy, results-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Operations & Revenue Growth:

  • Execute strategies to increase personal training sales and client retention.

  • Monitor gym membership metrics.

  • Oversee trainer scheduling, session bookings, and client progress tracking.

  • Manage gym software for billing, scheduling, and reporting.

2. Trainer & Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate personal trainers and other staff.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching for trainers if necessary.

  • Ensure trainers follow programming standards, safety protocols, and sales processes.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and professional development.

3. Client Experience & Retention:

  • Ensure top-tier customer service for all clients, handling concerns and feedback.

  • Conduct consultations, fitness assessments, and goal-setting sessions.

  • Implement client referral programs and engagement initiatives (e.g., challenges, events).

  • Oversee client progress tracking and satisfaction surveys.

4. Sales & Marketing:

  • Lead sales efforts for personal training packages, memberships, and add-ons.

  • Manage social media, email campaigns, and community outreach to attract new clients.

  • Collaborate with local businesses for partnerships and promotions.

5. Facility & Compliance:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment.

  • Ensure equipment is functional and meets safety standards.

  • Enforce gym policies and legal compliance (liability waivers, certifications, etc.).

 

Job Requirement

 

  • Experience:  3+ years in fitness management, personal training, or sales-driven roles. (preferred)

  • Certifications: NASM/ACE/ISSA (preferred), CPR/AED (preferred).

  • Skills:

    • Expertise in personal training programming and client motivation.

    • Proficient in gym management software and sales analytics.
